Modernizes foreign investment regime

On 26 January 2017, the Government of Colombia issued Decree 119 updating the country's international investment regime. One of the most significant changes of the decree is the modification of the registration scheme for foreign investments for which the registration deadlines and modalities have been eliminated. It also redefines the concept of "residency", for which the minimum required time in the national territory has been changed from 183 calendar days to one year (365 days).
