Eases rules on foreign investment in securities firms
On 28 April 2018, the Administrative Measures for Foreign-Invested Securities Companies came into effect. The major changes include; (1) allowing foreign investors to be controlling shareholders in joint-venture (JV) securities companies; (2) gradually expanding the business scope for JV securities companies; (3) unifying the caps on foreign ownership in both listed and unlisted securities companies.
