UNCTAD's 6th Commission on Investment, Enterprise, and Development Successfully Concluded
The meeting provided the opportunity for member States and investment and development stakeholders to discuss key and emerging issues in the area of investment and enterprise and their implications for sustainable development, as well as policy solutions. The Commission featured a number of well-attended high-profile events and eminent speakers, including the first Lady of Ethiopia, five ministers, our Secretary-General and the Deputy, as well as numerous ambassadors. Member States aknowledged the DIAE’s exemplary Result-based Management approach, and the impact of its activities on sustainable development, endorsing the main strategic orientations of DIAE’s work programme.
Recalling General Assembly resolution 67/202, the Commission's conclusions acknowledged the relevance of UNCTAD's Entrepreneurship Policy Framework and IPFSD and commended the program of Investment Policy Reviews. The World Investment Report and the World Investment Forum were praised for their contribution to capacity-building and policy formulation, particularly in the context of the sustainable development goals.
